During the interview, Marqa indicated that she was born on August 19, 1909, during the period of Ottoman rule, and was 36 years old shortly before the end of World War II.

It has spent almost all its life in an Albanian village, where it has taken care of food cultivation and livestock. Surrounded by fruit trees, 117-year-olds have over the years maintained a way of life closely related to nature and village affairs.
