Meghan Markle said in a statement Friday that a letter of disturbing charges against her father was sent to the Metropolitan Police and the Royal Family and Special Protection Command in 2018 that she was later forwarded to her and that she was assured the charges were being investigated.

According to CBS News and British GB News, Metropolitan Police have not investigated Thomas Markle and are not currently investigating him. Police did not comment on it in a statement.

The investigation into 82-year-old Thomas Markle is being conducted by the Philippines Department of Justice. Undersecretary Nicholas Ty told the state news agency PNA that the issue is being investigated by the department’s working group for fighting human trafficking and sexual abuse and child use on the internet. The FBI confirmed to ABC News that it is aware of the charges and will assist the Filipino authorities.

Markle was denounced by his son Thomas Markle Jr., who claims to have found sexual abuse material in his father’s home in Cebu. Thomas Markle denies the charges and is not charged. /Telegraphy/
