Vedat Muriqi is motivated for Istanbul’s great derby, where Fenerbahce will face Galatasaray on Monday from 7:30, within the ninth lap of the Turkish championship.

The captain of the national of Kosovo, who has started the season in good shape, has reportedly promised coach Ismail Kartal that he will score in the long-awaited confrontation against the staunch rival.

According to reports by Turkish media on Friday, Muriqi and Coach Kartal have held a private meeting this week, where the attacker has voiced his confidence before derby.

Fenerbahce will aim to win this confrontation to approach the table head. Currently, the team ranks third with 16 points, three short of the Galatasaray leader.

Muriqi has returned to Fenerbahce during the passing summer deadline, moving from Mallorca for 16m euros.
