French President Emmanuel Macron described it as a racist terrorist attack a shooting attack in a suburb of Paris, where one person was killed and five others injured.

Macron said the attack represents a turning point in the life of our Republic and nation, stressing that this has no place in France.

On Friday there were several shootings from a moving vehicle, originally in Trappes, southwest Paris, and then in La Verrière, a nearby area. Among the wounded was a 12-year-old girl.

According to officials, the attack lasted about 15 minutes. Three people suffered serious injuries, while the suspect was arrested.

The motive of the attack remains unclear, but the National Antiterrorism Prosecutor ( PNAT said the event is allegedly suicide within a terrorist enterprise.

UNAT identified the suspect as Kevin T. and announced that he had four previous criminal sentences, the BBC reports.
