The Constitutional Court in Northern Macedonia has rejected the initiative to assess the constitutionality of linear pension growth. This initiative had come after the RMV government had raised pensions linearly.
In the assessment of the Constitution, there will be no need for a review of Article 2 from the Law on Changing the Law on Pension Security and Invalidor.

In line with Article 38 of the Constitutional Court Act, conditions have been met for rejecting the initiative.
The Constitutional Court also in March prohibits the procedure to assess the constitutionality of Article 2 amendments to the Law on Pension Security and Invalidor of 2025, thus completing the review of linear pension growth. As they informed us, the proposal did not receive the majority, and the act remains in judicial order.
The procedure for assessing the constitutionality of Article 2 changes to the Law on Pension Security and Invaldor of 2025 was initiated because, according to the Court, the linear increase in pensions it anticipates could violate constitutional equality, property rights and social security principle, as it deals with pensioners with different contributions equally and creates non-proportional effects.
