Gresa Krasniqi, daughter of former Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi, has expressed her concern after a telephone conversation with her father, who has been sentenced to 25 years in prison by Kosovo’s Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
Through a post, Gresa has made it known that during the phone call, her father has told her that she had refused control by some doctors, expressing dissatisfaction with the treatment she is receiving at the detention institution.

According to her, Jakup Krasniqi has declared he will no longer accept medical care from the relevant institutions, as he feels unfairly treated and deprived of his rights.
Gresa has said that this attitude is particularly concerned about her father’s age and the need for health care.
She has expressed her dilemmas that she had created this situation, stressing the difficulty of convincing her father to accept medical help from a system to which he has lost confidence.
How can I ask him to accept the care of those institutions when he feels betrayed by the very justice he should defend?
In her reaction, Gresa has also expressed a sense of inadequacy in the face of her family situation.
I felt so helpless in the face of such an unfair international power. We’re here, Dad. We want you strong, we want you healthy, she’s declared.
At the end of the post, Jakup Krasniqi’s daughter has rejected the court’s decision, calling it an injustice and not as an error that can be corrected.
Dad’s conviction is not an error waiting to be corrected. It’s an injustice, Gresa Krasniqi wrote.
Her statements reflect the family’s concern for the situation of Jakup Krasniqi and his report with institutions responsible for caring for detained persons in The Hague.
