European Union for Rule of Law in Kosovo ( EU LEX has strongly condemned the murder of Arlinda Zekiaj in Vitomirica of Peja, expressing condolences for family members and all those in mourning for her loss.
Feemicide is the most extreme expression of gender-based violence and serious violation of women’s fundamental rights. No woman or girl should live in fear of violence, and any woman and girl seeking help and protection should have access to the support and protection she needs, says EULEX’s response.

EULEX has stressed that it remains committed to supporting Kosovo’s rule of law institutions for prevention and response to gender-based violence, protection of women and children at risk, as well as empowering access to justice and support for survivors.
According to EULEX, effective use of instruments for risk assessment, implementation of defence commands and co-ordinated approach between institutions, civil society and communities is involved.
Prohibition of childicide is a common responsibility that requires continued commitment, cooperation and perseverance.
EULEX has indicated that, in line with its mandate, it is closely monitoring the case and will continue to support relevant institutions in these commitments.
