A flight of Air Serbia from Belgrade to Moscow has been unexpectedly interrupted Tuesday evening, as the plane has been forced to return to the airport Nikola Tesla, under circumstances that have not yet been officially clarified. The event has sparked reactions and speculation in Serbia, as several prominent political figures, including Aleksandar Vulin, are also mentioned among the alleged passengers.
According to Serbian media reports, there were allegedly Vulin, one of the politicians closest to Moscow, Srbijagas Director Dusan Bayatovic, as well as politician Nenad Popovovic.

N1 television, referring to the Nova.rs portal, reported that it was the Airbus A320 plane, with a flight number of Jou134, which had left Belgrade at 18:25, with a destination of Moscow.
On the way, however, the plane has changed direction and has returned to Belgrade, where it landed shortly before 10:00.
Nova sources claim that the order to return the plane was issued by the airport’s corporate security director, for reasons allegedly linked to security. So far, this information has not been officially confirmed.
What has increased interest in this case is the fact that hours before the departure of the flight, the president of the Democratic Party of Serbia, Srão Milivojevic, had publicly warned a possible trip to Moscow of the two Serbian officials.
And who’s leaving for Moscow tonight, on the flight of 18:30?
In an earlier statement to Serbian media Naš Portal, Milivojević had claimed that two politicians were traveling to Moscow, stressing that one had bought a round-and-round ticket, while the other was only going.
According to him, the person who had bought a one-way ticket was a former minister, known for his anti-European integration stances, to which, according to his claim, had launched an investigation.
Because there’s been an investigation against the man who’s running away, he’d declared Milivojevic.
Later, Montenegrin media, including the ETV portal, identified two politicians like Aleksandar Vulin and Nenad Popovovic, reporting that they had booked tickets for the evening flight to Moscow.
Meanwhile, the Serbian newspaper Republika has reported on allegations about financial abuse worth about 60m euros in a Vojvodina institution, which it has linked to the name of Voulin. However, claims of his involvement and the state of investigation have not been officially confirmed.
Aleksandar Vulin, former defence minister, former interior minister and former director of Serbia’s Security Intelligence Agency ( BIA, known for its pro-Russian stances and close political reports with Moscow.
Even Dusan Bajatovic and Nenad Popovi are known for their ties to Russia.
N1 has announced that it has requested clarifications from the Air Serbia company, the airport –Nikola Tesla and the Civil Aviation Directorate — but until the reporting release, there was no response. Television has also attempted to contact Volin and Bayatovchi, but without success.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether the return of the plane has been linked to suspected passengers or to any other security issues. There is also no official confirmation that the seal was on board or that the trip to Moscow was aimed at avoiding a possible investigation.
Thus, the opposition’s warning before the departure of the plane, reports of the ticket only on the way, and the sudden return of the flight have raised questions that have not yet been given an official response.
