Erona Coklin’s brother, Driloni, has attended the protest against the murder of women in Pristina, where he has shared the family’s pain of losing his sister and sought justice for all the women who were killed.
In his speech, he has said that on April 12th, 2024, he lost his sister, Erona, who was killed by her former husband, Valon Ali, within the Ferizaj Centre for Social Affairs, following a dispute over the custody of their son.

Drilon has stressed that the family is not satisfied with the 24-year sentence pronounced on his sister’s killers.
Every murder leaves behind a family destroyed, tears and pain that never heal. I am speaking not only as a citizen but as a brother who has experienced the worst loss. On April 12, 2024, I lost my sister, Eron, and since that day my life is no longer the same, he declared.
Referring to the consequences of killing his family, Drilon has particularly mentioned his nephew, who is growing up without the presence of his mother.
My pain becomes even more intense when I see my nephew mentioning his mother, remembering her and missing her. How can you explain to a child why his mother won’t come back? How can you fill the void that no one can replace? He will grow with the goods for his mother, while we will live with the pain of losing Erona, he said.
He has further reiterated that the family does not consider the sentence pronounced sufficient, demanding that Erona’s case not be forgotten.
We as a family are not satisfied with the 24-year sentence. For us, no punishment can bring Erona back, but we believe that her life deserves justice and that the pain of our family must be heard, he added.
In the protest against the murder of women, Drillon has demanded that such cases be not only treated as temporary news but remembered through the pain of families and the consequences of children.
He has also mentioned the murder of Arlinda Zekiaj, seeking justice for him and all other victims.
Please, don’t just look at the murders as a news story that is forgotten in a few days. Each victim has a family, suffering children, broken dreams, and a lifelong pain. Justice for Erona and all the victims. How many other lives must be lost and how many families must suffer to understand the value of human life?
In the end, he has demanded that the names of Erona, Arlinda, and other murdered women remain not only part of news and statistics but be remembered and forgotten.
We remember that Erona Cokli was killed on April 12th 2024 by her former husband, Valon Aliu, within the Center for Social Work in Ferizaj.
On the same occasion, Aliu had also injured her brother and killed an official of the Center for Social Affairs.
