France Football, the Golden Ball organiser, has launched an investigation into the suspicious bets on the Polymarket platform. A group of 12 accounts accurately predicted the five best players in this year’s selection, earning almost 200,000 dollars in bets worth more than $264,000.
It is particularly interesting that according to research by French media Upside, accounts opened between October 1st and October 20th and showed very similar behavior patterns. Because of this, there was a doubt that the same person, or organized group, was behind them, which could have had confidential information prior to the official proclamation of results.

The exact order of five supposed ancestors
This year’s Golden Ball was won by Harry Kane, ahead of Kyle Mbppe, Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Lionel Messi. This is exactly the order predicted by the contractual accounts in Polymarket. It’s not just about guessing the winner.
The payments were also aimed at specific deployment of individual football players, and all five predictions resulted in accuracy. According to data published by Upside, a total of more than $264,000 has been bets on various election-related results. The profit was almost 200,000 dollars, or about 149,000 pounds.
Twelve accounts were brought almost identical
The research revealed that 12 accounts were opened during October. Seven did not participate in any other betting market, while six accounts placed their first bet only 15 minutes after the opening.
Such a pattern caused additional doubts. Researchers believe that accounts may be connected, although it has not yet been established that the same person is behind them all. One of the accounts initially placed a bet on Kane’s victory and then sold some of his position after the bet grew to value. The money was then diverted to betting on specific positions, including the third place of Yamal.
An account reached all five positions
One account in particular stands out as the only one among the 12 accounts identified that has played all five positions in the correct order. He placed a bet on Kane as the winner on October 1st, while adding other positions during the following weeks. In total, he invested about 14,000 dollars in these five projections. Researchers also traced the movement of money related to accounts.
Some of the transactions were related to other accounts, and a fee was traced to the French financial platform Deblock. According to Upside, after being given the transaction data, the platform was able to identify a person connected to one of the accounts. Her identity has not been disclosed at this time.
France Football has launched an investigation
Upside handed her research results to France Football, the Golden Ball organiser. Organisers have confirmed they have launched an investigation and French police should be informed of the case as well. The main question is whether individual betting organisers had access to confidential information about the final ranking before the ceremony.
France Football has earlier claimed that only a very small number of people know the winner before the prize. That’s why the extraordinary accuracy of betting is attracting extra attention. So far, there is no evidence that there has been any leaks of information, nor has anyone been determined who stands behind contested accounts.
However, the fact that a group of accounts have placed huge bets on a very specific scenario and then won all five countries has raised serious questions about security and the privacy of voting for one of the most important individual prices in football. /Telegraphy/
