An incident with firearms has upset residents of the road — Boujar Sylaʹ in Gjakova — where a minor allegedly shot a pistol. The case takes on even more disturbing proportions, as there had been an earlier incident between the suspect and his associate, reported to the Police, reports the Signal newspaper.
The event took place on October 26th 2026, around 17:40, while signal sources suggest the suspect is a 17-year-old, B.V.
According to information provided, the minor was shown himself at the Police Station in Gjakova, carrying a short firearm and claiming to have fired him.
Police have immediately seized the weapon and sent relevant units to the location where shooting had allegedly occurred.
Two bullets and a shelling have been found and seized at the scene, which will serve as evidence during the investigation.
His co-worker heard the shooting, but he thought they were pyrotechnics.
During the investigation, police have identified and interviewed the complainer, as well as minors, with the initials O.S. (2009), as well as a witness.
According to the complainer’s statement, he had heard several shots, but he had initially thought it was about pyrotechnics.
What raises concerns is that the complainer has stated that with the alleged 17-year-old, he had another earlier case, which was reported to the police.
The nature of that incident has not yet been clarified, and if the latest shooting is related to the previous dispute.
The suspect was interviewed in the presence of his defense attorney and guardian, but exercised the right to defend in silence.
In the case, the competent juvenile prosecutor has been announced, who has ordered the initiative of the procedure for criminal acts: possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons and use of weapons or dangerous means.
At the prosecutor’s decision, a 24-year-old detention measure has been imposed on him.
Investigations are continuing to clarify the circumstances of the shooting, the direction in which the weapon was used and the eventual connection of the incident to the previous case.
