Alliance for Future of Kosovo MP ( AAK), Besnik Tahiri, has called for resignations and dismissals in the institutions responsible after the assassination of Arlinda Zekiaj, naming such an act as ethical responsibility for an event that has shocked the country.
From the Parliament’s speaker, Tahiri has said that the murder of Arlinda should not be treated as an isolated case, but as part of a disturbing phenomenon that requires institutional reflection and accountability.
Without a doubt, the murder of Arlinda is a tragedy that has shocked us all, but it is not an isolated case. Unfortunately, it is becoming a phenomenon which in Kosovo owes us to reflect and, above all, to seek responsibility, Tahiri has declared.
He has stressed that the public condolences and condemnation of the case is not enough, requiring concrete action by the responsible institutions.
Today, there should be resignations, dismissals, such as ethical action against an event that caused pain to all Kosovo citizens, the MP has said.
Tahiri has noted that violence against women should not only be treated as an isolated case or only from the childicide’s perspective, but also through the responsibility that institutions have to prevent such cases and protect the victims.
