Siljanovska-Davidkova with the Eurodeputs in Brussels: European prospects require mutual political will, concrete steps

President Gordana Silianovska-Davidkova met with Euro-computers Dan Barna (Renew, Romania), Tijas Reuten ( DS, Netherlands), Mattey Tony ( PEPE, Slovenia) and Carlo Ressler ( PEPE, Croatia) at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The topic of the conversation was the current situation in Macedonia’s European integration process, the challenges facing the European Union’s enlargement policy, as well as the possibilities for overcoming the long drive in the accession negotiations.

Siljanovska-Davidkova recalled the country’s 21-year status as a candidate and its continued commitment to European integration, supported by significant reforms.

She stressed particularly full compliance with the European Union’s Joint Foreign and Security Policy as confirmation of clear geopolitical determination and continued support for European attitudes.

According to her, the political will for progress should be expected not only from candidate countries, but also from the Union itself, which needs creative solutions to overcome the long stalemate, without questioning Macedonian national and cultural identity.

The conversationators agreed that the RMV country is in the European Union, where it naturally belongs, despite road challenges.
For some Eurodeputs, their countries’ experience confirms that the accession process can be long and filled with difficult conditions, and progress may not always be recognised. /Telegraphy/
