Thousands hoping to gain the right to live and work in the United States will have to wait longer, since the American lottery and green card for 2017 has faced another legal obstacle.
A US federal appeals court has temporarily blocked a previous decision that forced President Donald Trump’s administration to resume the lottery programme.

Thus, thousands of applicants remain in uncertainty again, while it is not known when the process will continue, writes newsweek.
The programme has been suspended since 2025. American authorities have reasoned with concerns about national security and the need to review the application verification procedures.
The green card Lottery, known as the Diversity Visa Programme, enables citizens of certain countries to apply for an opportunity to gain a permanent stay in the US.
Continued suspension and legal barriers have created uncertainty about the thousands waiting to know if the program will take place in 2027. /Telegraphy/
