Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Donika Grovalla-Schwarz, as well as Interior Minister Jjelal Svechla, will hold a joint media conference today in connection with Arlinda Zekij’s murder case.
The conference is warned to be held at 09 o’clock in the Kosovo Government building, following the handover of reports by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the prime minister’s office.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s office has announced it has accepted detailed reports by the two ministries, which will be considered to identify the course of the case, possible institutional concessions, neglect and the eventual failure of responsible institutions.
According to ZKM’s announcement, the review will include institutional responsibility and handling of the case in all its phases.
Meanwhile, the two ministers’ conference is held at a time when three days in Pristina justice protests are under way for Arlinda Zekay and the murdered women.
Protesters, organised by the Association for Religious Thought and Action, also have the main demands of the resignation or dismissal of Justice Minister Donika Grovalla, and Interior Affairs Minister Jedal Svecla.
They are also seeking the investigation and prosecution of officials allegedly neglecting Zekiaj’s case, as well as accountability for the actions and inactions of the responsible institutions.
