DVetevendosje Movement and once chairman Vigan Qrolli of the Parliamentary Commission for Legislation has reacted after the assassination of Arlinda Zekaj in Vitomirica of Pec, who was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law.

In a Facebook post, Qroll has criticised Peja prosecutor Suada Hamza, charging that she did not intervene to protect Arlinda, despite her request for help.

Referring to the letter written by Arlinda, Qrolli has expressed pain in the case, stressing that she had sought protection from institutions but failed to save her life.

Now she must be held accountable before the law and before God, why did she allow her murder legally! Now, as I read Arlinda’s dying wish, I’m crying. I’m weeping about Arlinda, the fear she may have felt about the days when she expected help, the hope she kept alive while seeking protection. I’m crying about the fact that a person can reach out to the prosecution and still fail to save his life. We can’t go back. We can’t give Arlinda her life back.

But we can’t let her voice go out with her. How many times must a woman ask for help so that she can have the right to live safely? Arlinda, it hurts to be gone. It pains me that this letter has remained evidence of what you asked for and that you should have had – protection. Let it not be your vain pain. Let it become memory, conscience, and responsibility.
