In today’s elections, Americans decide who will control Congress, which will affect how much President Donald Trump will be able to implement his policy during the remaining two years of mandate.

Congress is the American Parliament and consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives, writes Chan.

In the House of Representatives, the larger states have more representatives, having a larger population. And in the Senate, each state sends two senators, despite the number of residents.

Any law should get the approval of both rooms. The Senate, among other things, confirms the president’s appointments to important state positions.

Congress also decides on the state budget and oversees the work of the presidential administration.

If the Democrats win most in one or both rooms, Trump will find it more difficult to pass laws and finance his plans.

At the same time, the Democrats could increase their supervision of his administration’s work and launch investigations. /Telegraphy/
