Kosovo police have seized four firearms during a vehicle raid in the village of Gazivod of Zubin Potok.
The case occurred on Sunday, around 16:15, when police officials stopped a car with local license plates, which a person born in 1993 led, while the passenger was a 53-year-old.
During contact with the police, the driver claimed to own weapons, which, according to him, had been found in a bag, several meters away from where the vehicle was stopped.
After the search, the police found and seized four firearms — an AK-47 and three M-48-type weapons. The two men were initially arrested, while the State Prosecutor was announced on the case.
At the prosecutor’s order, police also searched the residence addresses of two suspects in South Mitrovica, but did not find anything illegal.
After interviewing the quality of the suspects, the two were released in regular procedure. The case is being investigated for criminal work keeping possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons.
Police have appealed to citizens that, if they face weapons or other illegal means, they do not touch them and report the police to the 192 emergency number.
