The signal newspaper has reported over years of cases involving Ramush Salihu, 42-year-old who will now serve a nine-year prison sentence for rape, sexual harassment and false presentation as an official person.
His name had been reported by the signal since December 2022, when Salih was accused of defrauding a blind old man who lived alone in the village of Sadovine of the Year. According to the indictment, he was suspected of putting the elderly man into custody, claiming that he had brought him a package of help and thus received about 200 euros.
At the time, the signal had also reported on the failure of the court hearing against him, as the police had failed to find him to bring him to court. The judge had warned of the warrant.
Later, the signal had also reported on a serious case in Pristina, where Salihu was suspected of violating a 19-year-old. He was suspected of initially being presented as a member of the Kosovo Police, while then threatened and blackmailed the victim before forcing him to engage in sexual relations without her own desire.
For these criminal acts, Salihu has been sentenced to nine years and six months in prison. He is currently in Kosovo after being extradited from France on November 5, 2026.
