Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has met in St. Stefan with the Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Europe at the British Foreign Ministry, Lord Wood of Anfield, where he has praised close relations and co-operation with the United Kingdom.

Through a social networking post, Kurti has announced that the meeting comes after conversations held over the past two months with the British Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce, at both the UN General Assembly in New York and over the telephone.

The Government head has stressed the important role of the United Kingdom in supporting Kosovo’s citizenship, naming it a key friend and ally on the country’s journey.

The United Kingdom has been the key friend and ally in every stage of our development, from freedom and independence to today’s democracy, and remains among the most powerful voices for our Euro-Atlantic integration, Kurti wrote.

He has added that, with the consolidation and full functioning of institutions, the main focus is on reforms and economic development.

In this regard, Kurti has mentioned expanding co-operation with Great Britain in several areas, including the protection and organisation of the Mediterranean Games Pristina 2030.
