A 32-year-old Albanian national has been arrested in Italy’s Occhiobello, after allegedly returning to the country despite a five-year entry ban imposed after his expulsion.
By BTZ, the Albanian had been expelled from Italy in May 2026, while stops had been set for him to return until 2031.

The case was discovered during the usual search of territory by Occhiobellos’ Carabinieri, who stopped a vehicle with two foreigners inside.
Due to a temporary technical problem with police information systems, the verification of their documentation ended just hours later, Telegrafi broadcast.
The raids on Italian authorities’ databases revealed that the 32-year-old passenger had been subject to an expulsion decision issued in December 2025 by the mayor and the Ferara cashier.
After concluding that he had returned to Italy without due authorization, the Carabiniers found him in the residence of a family member and arrested him under suspicion of violating immigration rules.
However, Rovigo’s prosecution ordered his release pending the arrest warrant.
This decision was made because 32-year-old turns out to be in procedure for international protection and that the expulsion decision may have been suspended until the end of its application review.
Italian authorities expected to carry out further verification of international defence procedure status and validity of expulsion decision. /Telegraphy/
