A month’s detention of Valon Curri, insisted that more than 110 weapons were stolen in Gjakova

The case of the disappearance of over 100 weapons from the licensed range of police in Gjakova has taken a new turn. The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjakova has called for the appointment of a month’s detention to the owner of the polygaon, Valon Curri, under suspicion of having sold his weapons illegally, and had later reported falsely that they were stolen.

The signal newspaper reported exclusively on the disappearance of weapons and the arrest of Currie, who had originally denounced the case in Kosovo Police.

In today’s announcement, the prosecution announced that it was against Curri. It has made a decision to start investigations and applied to the Constitutional Court in Gjakova for the appointment of a 30-day detention measure.

According to prosecution allegations, Curri, from the beginning of October 2026 to October 30, at the Tactical Police in Gjakova, allegedly sold over 110 firearms, which he had in the storage of the licensed police station.

The weapons were allegedly sold to two people with initials D.P. and L.U., who are currently on the run.

After their sale, according to the Prosecutor, Curri had reported the case to the Kosovo Police, falsely claiming the same weapons had been stolen.

Meanwhile, the prosecution has made a decision to initiate investigations into two other suspects, the D.P. and L.U., due to suspicion that they have carried out criminal work, import, supply, transportation, production, exchange, mediation or unauthorized weapons or explosive matter.

So Curries burden suspicions of criminal acts import, export, supply, transport, production, exchange, mediation or unauthorized weapons or explosive matter/and false warning or reporting.

The case was reported on October 30th, when the disappearance of over 100 firearms was reported from the polygion warehouse THlC, with a alleged damage of over 100 thousand euros.

However, investigations conducted by the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and Randa Crime, in co-ordination with the Prosecution, had raised doubts that the case was, not a common theft, but an illegal sale of weapons and false reporting.

On November 3rd, police had conducted raids on three locations in the Gjakova region, where material evidence was seized and Curri had been arrested.
