IKosovo National Public Health Institute ( IK The KPS has established a new analytical method of determining the remains of pesticides in fruits and vegetables.

According to the IKSHPK report, the method is implemented within the Pesticides Lab, near the Human Ecology Department, and is implemented through gas chromography ( GC-MS, with GC Agilent equipment 8890 linked to the spectrometer of mass 5977B.

This method enables the analysis of a total of 31 pesticides, including organotric pesticides, triazines, herbicides and pirethroides, broadcast Klankosova.tv.

Among the pesticides that can be identified through this method are DDT, DDE, Dieldrin, Andrew, Simazine, Alachlor, Cypermethrin, Deltamether, and Lambda-cyhalothrin.

IK The KPS has made it known that the current capacity of the laboratory is five samples per week, while expected to increase in the future.

According to the institute, functioning this method enhances the analytical capacity for monitoring the remains of pesticides in fruits and vegetables, contributing to public health protection and food safety assessment.
