Hoti accuses Government of violating legal deadline for draft budget

The former Kosovo prime minister, simultaneously LDK deputy Avdullah Hoti, has accused Government of not respecting the legal deadline for handing over next year’s draft budget to the Assembly.

Hoti has declared that Article 22 of the Public Finance Management Law tasked the executive with handing over the Assembly no later than October 31st.

Today is November 1st. The draft budget in Government has not yet been adopted. With that, the government is violating the set deadline with the Public Finance Management Law, he wrote.

The former prime minister has also raised questions about how the Parliament will consider a draft budget delivered after the legal deadline.

According to him, such a situation has not occurred before, as even during election and government periods in office, the draft has been approved and delivered within the set deadlines.

Never happened. Even in election time, with Government in office, the draft budget has been adopted and delivered to the Assembly in line with legal deadlines and requirements, Hoti has stressed.

He has directed broader criticism of Vetevendosje government and its partners, claiming legal and constitutional violations have turned into practice.

In this context, Hoti has cited declared unconstitutional laws, decisions on dismissal or not naming senior officials, and, according to him, the constitution under the constitutional deadline.

The LDK MP has also accused the prime minister of failing to respond to justice bodies, while claiming that the exercise of the government office and MP’s mandate by the prime minister and ministers has violated the Supreme Court’s act of judgment.
