Ginny: Kosovo is in energy collapse, import has cost 27m euros only in September

Alliance Chairman Ardian Gjini has declared that Kosovo is facing a serious energy crisis, claiming that electricity import has cost around 27m euros during September alone.

He has warned that the country could be forced to import energy worth at least twom euros a day, while accusing Government of failing to repair the boiler of one of the production blocks.

At a media conference, Djind has warned that the Alliance next week will seek interference in the Kosovo Assembly over the issue.

He has said that electricity import costs weigh directly on citizens, either through bills or through expenses from the state budget.

Today we have called to the press conference to turn Kosovo’s attention to the situation in which Kosovo is today. It connects with the economy, which connects with almost everything else, and has to do with electricity, with energy in Kosovo. I need to tell you that Kosovo, I said, is in collapse. Once again: After many years, with a brutal import of electricity, at brutal prices, prices that are ultimately paid from the pockets of Kosovo citizens. We know there’s a lot of suicides, we know that a lot of what, like on other occasions, I use a word in Kosovo, but I need to get it straight. Which means that it is paid for electricity, it comes out of the pockets of Kosovo citizens. Whether through bills or through scandalous payments from Kosovo’s budget, because even Kosovo’s budget, comes from the pockets of Kosovo citizens through taxes, which the state takes, Djind said.

He has also given figures for import and energy production, saying that at the moment he was speaking, production was about 372 megawatts, while demand exceeded 800 megawatts.

I have to tell you that the import of electricity so far is about 27m euros. This is only September, just September. We need to tell you that we have power production somewhere in 372 megawatts right now that demand is over 800 megawatts. It means moments when many demands are not expected. It’s a low demand. It could go a lot higher. That means we are reaching a minimum of electricity import 2m euros a day, he said.

Djind has accused Government of failing, according to him, with the intention of tendering the boiler, claiming the procedure has been closed without winners and that it has made repairs not complete.

) The same companies that are licensed for electricity transport, even for other frauds, are the same. Which we’ve been talking about for a long time. You know that when you arrived in the Kosovo Assembly about three years ago, you have also been given a speech to deputies and citizens of Kosovo for the boilers and filters. Now I’ll show you something. These have deliberately failed the boat repair tender, the boiler. Who has since been repaired by the end of this year, has opened the tender, has closed the tender without winners, to reveal the prices of bids that are close to brutal corrupts, have also received complaints that Kurti’s boiler is irreparable. That the same guy he talked about two and a half years ago. Now what happens? It still has to be either December or January or in February, it still has to be taken out of the largest bloc system we have, in production, to repair that boiler we’ve been talking about, who leads the biggest fraud in Kosovo’s history. The Alliance will seek interpelnacs from the Kosovo government for this matter, he said. /EO
