Justice Minister Donika Grovalla, and Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla will hold a joint media conference today over the case of Arlinda Zekaj, who was killed in Vitomirica in Pec.

The conference will be held at 09 o’clock, at the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, while at the same time prior to the Government object has been warned of protest against killing women.

A day earlier, the prime minister’s office announced it has accepted detailed reports from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs concerning the Zekij case.

According to the announcement, reports will be reviewed and analysed in detail together with the relevant ministers to identify possible concessions, neglect, non-reaction and institutional responsibility.

Alongside the relevant ministers will be their review and analysis in detail, history and the course of the case, each is released and irresponsible treatment, neglect and failure, as well as everything related to institutional procedure and responsibility, says the Office of the Prime Minister’s announcement.

The government has announced that the Gervala and Sveca conference will be held precisely in terms of these reports and further actions.

Meanwhile, the protest warned before the government comes after numerous reactions to the murder of Arlinda Zekitaj and the requirements for accountability by the responsible institutions.

The case has sparked protests over the past few days, with the request to investigate the actions and inactions of officials who have been involved in handling the victim’s case. / KP/
