Customs officials and customs mobile teams in Macedonia have seized 135kg of cut tobacco and 30 liters of alcohol without excise stamps, for which avoidance of obligations to the state amounts to 337,558 denars, Macedonia Customs Director Mustafa Dauti has announced. Television is sent to Macedonia.

The event comes as a result of intensified controls in the domestic market and imports, following an international group’s earlier crackdown on organised crime for illegal import of cigarettes.

As a result of these findings, authorities have taken legal measures against those involved:

Penal Code will expose a person to a criminal charge, as in his case, the avoidance of the excise amounts to about 257 thousand denarius.

Contradictions have been raised against two other people.

Mustafa Dauti underlines that strict controls of illegal trade will continue aimed at protecting public interest, law enforcement and ensuring equal conditions in the market for all fair businessmen. /Telegraphy/
