Democrats expected to take over the US House of Representatives, according to projections CNN-to make way for Congresswoman Hakeem Jeffries to become the first colored chairman of this institution.
Jeffries, 56, will not officially take office until January 3rd. Until then, it should provide sufficient support to new democratic congressers, both from the progressive and moderate arm.

Within the party, there is little doubt that Jeffries will be the figure that will lead the Democrats in the last two years of American President Donald Trump’s mandate.
He has just been re-elected for his eighth term at the U.S. Congress and has quickly established positions within the leadership structures of the Democrats, also providing support from the powerful group of colored congressers.
Jeffries has repeatedly stressed the historic importance of the district it represents, some of which were once represented by Shirley Chishom, the first colored woman chosen at the U.S. Congress.
When he was elected leader of the Democrats in 2022, Jeffries became the first African to lead one of the two main parties in any room in Congress.
He then recalled Chisholmin, saying his success was built on her heritage and other figures of civil rights movement. /Telegraphy/
