Enis Zeqiri, only 18 years old, received attention weeks ago in Denmark when he was given the chance to debut with the renowned Sonderysque team – the academy where the two who started making a name – Olti Hyseni and Albert Candman – were formed.

Zeqiri held his first minutes in painful loss (5-1) by Horsens. He has acknowledged that he had many emotions, but professional debut has already increased his motive for working even harder.

When I joined the game, I was extremely excited. It was like a dream come true. I’d always wanted to debut for the club, and I’m so happy that this happened, he said in an interview for Telegrafi.

I’m extremely grateful, because that’s what I had worked so hard for. For me, this debut was another reason to go on and work even harder, just like it’s one of Sönderyske’s values.

Asked how he received his first invitation, Zeqiri has shown that it was originally only meant to cool off, but then the coach gave him the chance to witness quality in the field.

Yeah, before one exercise, one of the trainers called me to watch some videos. After we saw them, the coach told me I’d be at the reserve bank for that match. I was thrilled and excited because I didn’t expect to be on the players’ list.

When we went to the match and she started, I had special emotions. I was a little nervous, but so excited. With the passing of minutes and the beginning of the second part, I was called out for a warm date with four other players. That was a good signal I could activate.

After a while, about the 80th minute, I was called to join the game. This was when I got really nervous and excited, because I was preparing to play my first match in Superleague. I rushed in, changed, and I stood by the sideline. At that moment I didn’t think much, but I just focused on my duty.

When I got into the field, I felt a little easier. Unfortunately, we lost the fight, but we have to move on and be ready for the next fight.

Sonderyske has made it clear to the player that he has it for the long-term project and that he just has to work harder to upgrade the game level.

Yeah, we talked and he told me I should keep working, give more of myself, and do things that I’m good at. He advised me that one day good results will come. So, at the moment, my mind is just incontinent work and constant improvement.

The Zeqiri also has clear objectives, so signing the professional contract and then moving to a major club in Europe.

My personal goals are to one day sign professional contracts and become a regular part of the first team. I love to train with the first team because they treat me very well and it’s an excellent group I feel good about.

Then my dream is to move one day to a big club in Europe and create my name in football.

Unlike many players, Enis Zeqiri has only one desire at the international level, Kosovo’s representation.
