Serbia’s Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic has accused political opponents of preparing a campaign for the arrest of Aleksandar Vucinqi, following demands for his questioning concerning the tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station, where 16 people died.
In a response to the social network X, Brnatic described this development as an attempt to political persecution, claiming that the goal is not to establish justice, but to remove Vuciqi from politics.

They promised revolutionary terror, and now we’re seeing revolutionary terror, she wrote.
According to Brnabici, less than 72 hours after the victory of the Student List in the elections, has launched a campaign aimed at arresting Vucic. She considered the requirements for his interrogation unwarranted, while demanding that investigations include individuals responsible for project control and the adoption of railway station works.
Brnabic compared the Novi Sad tragedy to the collapse of a section of the Charles de Gaulle airport terminal roof in France in 2004, where four people died. She questioned whether, on that occasion, then French President Jacques Chirac would have been questioned as a suspect.
The goal here is to silence and leave Aleksandar Vucciqi, and not establish justice in the country, Brnatic said.
She added that the Serbian Progressive Party would reject what it described as revolutionary terror.
Brnabici’s statements come to a climate of political tension in Serbia, following the Novi Sad tragedy, which has prompted calls for responsibility and investigation into circumstances that led to the collapse of the railway station tent.
Claims of a plan to arrest Vuciqi are Brnabici’s statements and do not constitute, in themselves, official confirmation that such arrest is being prepared.
