Democratic League of Kosovo ( The LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has called for full and independent investigation into the assassination of Arlinda in Pec, as well as accountability by officials and institutions that have handled its case.

In a Facebook post, Abdixhiku said that each official and institution that has addressed the victim’s request must account for the actions taken and unmet obligations.

He stressed that Arlinda had sought protection from the state and that, three days before she was killed, she had submitted a request to the prosecutor regarding the danger to her life.

Arlinda asked to live. He asked for state protection. Three days before she was killed, she warned the prosecutor of the danger to her life. Today, her letter is here. Arlinda is gone. She was killed last night.

He has said that responsibility for the case should be clear and that each official must answer for his actions or inactions.

Obadiah added that as long as the victim has to offer protection while he was alive, the institutions now have the duty to provide justice for him and act to protect other women who may be in danger.

In this case, the LDK requires full and independent investigation into any action and inaction in its defence. Each official and institution that has addressed the Arlinda request must account for the actions it has taken and the obligations it has left unfulfilled. The responsibility must have a surname, he wrote.
