Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to resume trilateral negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the United States, which are expected to take place next month with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine.
The news revealed Putin’s foreign policy adviser, Yuri Usshakov, after meeting in St Petersburg on Wednesday between Russian leader and US President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff.

According to Usakov, the talks are expected to resume after November 10th and will focus on creating a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the end of the war.
The meeting took place at a time when US President Donald Trump is putting pressure on Kiev to reach an agreement that would end the fighting.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has insisted that a summit among leaders of the countries involved is needed for resolving the conflict.
Despite diplomatic efforts, field fighting continues as both sides conduct daily attacks with long-range weapons.
Representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the US held three rounds of negotiations earlier this year, with meetings in Abu Dhabi during January and February, as well as in Geneva in February.
However, the talks did not bring significant progress towards a peace agreement, in addition to exchange of prisoners of war. Moscow and Kiev continue to have opposing positions on key requirements, leaving it unclear the possibility of quick achieving a diplomatic solution.
