The European Parliament has adopted new regulations to protect passengers when their journey is interrupted.
Travelers across the EU will be able to seek repayment using a standard form that will be made available on the European Commission’s website in all EU languages and will cover all means of transport.

Passengers have the right to a full reimbursement within 14 days, and mediators such as travel agents or online booking platforms are included in the repayment obligations, which was not clear in earlier legislation.
If a mediator doesn’t offer a write-off within the appointed time, the airline is obliged to intervene and charge the passenger in question.
We are giving priority to our citizens’ rights over airline profits, said Italian socialist Matteo Ricci, the Eurodeput responsible for the regulation.
The rules also strengthen the rights of disabled people. When necessary, a guide will be able to travel with them on a free flight, as is already the case on buses, trains, and ships, writes Euronews.al.
The regulation was approved by 652 votes, two against and eight abstentions. It relies on a major review of the air passenger rights approved in July, which made it easier to receive reimbursements and urged airlines to include a free hand luggage in online prices.
