One person has been killed and five others have been injured, three of them in serious condition, from shooting guns in several areas in the outskirts of Paris, France, as French authorities investigate the case as possible terrorist acts.

The shooting occurred on Friday morning, originally in Trappes, southwest Paris, and then in La Verrière near it.

According to France’s Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, the attack lasted almost 15 minutes, the BBC writes, broadcast Dukagujini.

Among those injured is a 12-year-old girl, while the suspect has been arrested, while his motive has not yet become clear.

National Antiterrorism Prosecutor in France ( PNAT) revealed that the case is being investigated, among other things, as murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise.

It’s clearly a terrorist crime, that’s what the prosecutor said, said Nuñez in front of reporters in Trappes.

The mayor of this municipality, Ali Rabeh, said a person had fired guns from his car to some people he had encountered during the walk across the area.

According to witnesses, the suspect was running a grey Renault Clio-type car and had shot in some neighborhoods. Rabeh said the attacker had fired indiscriminately, with the apparent goal of causing as many victims as possible.

It seems he wanted to cause as many victims as possible… he wanted to cause a massacre, the mayor of the municipality said.

According to him, the shooting had taken place at a gas station, a health center, and a children’s playground in Trappes before the suspect went on to La Verrière.

However, the National Prosecutor Against Terrorism called on authorities and the public to take care of the victims’ identity.

The mother of the wounded 12-year-old girl told French broadcaster RTL that her daughter had received eight bullet wounds and needed surgical surgery.

According to French media reports, the suspect used an old semiautomatic weapon and fired several times through the car window.
