US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that the end of the war in Ukraine is near and that they are closer than ever.
The American president made these statements commenting on the Russian side of Steven Hubard, a retired teacher who had been arrested after fighting on the Ukraine side.
He said this development came after a conversation he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war, adding that Russia gave nothing in return.
I said, “Can you free Stephen Hubard?” … and now he’s coming back, Trump said during a roundtable discussion at the White House on cybercrime.
Earlier, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his appreciation that the war in Ukraine is nearing its end.
Ukrainian conflict is coming to an end, Yuri Usshakov said.
I don’t know how close we are, but things are moving in that direction, he said in response to a question about the prospects for the end of the conflict, writes Euronews.al.
He also said Russia is ready to resume trilateral talks with the US and Ukraine in mid-November. The talks are likely to be held at Abu Dhabi.
