The event, which reportedly took place during a training session in May, had attracted great media attention and raised questions about the relationship between the two midfielders of the madrile team.

According to reports of the time, tensions among the players were escalating, while Valverde had suffered a head injury and had sought medical treatment. Uruguay had explained that it was accidentally hit at a table, denying that one of them had punched the other.

After the incident, Real Madrid had initiated disciplinary procedures on both footballers, while reports released at the time spoke of a fine of 500 thousand euros and a plea to the club and fans.

Commenting on the matter, the French promoter has insisted that there were no physical clashes between him and Valverde, although he has admitted that there may be times of tension in the dressing rooms.

I want to explain things. There has been no conflict between us. It’s true that things happen in the dressing rooms, but we haven’t fought, Tchoamen has declared.

He added that the main problem was the way the event was handled in the media, becoming a much larger topic than needed.

When you’re at Real Madrid, everything, as small as it may be, increases dramatically and becomes a media show. Something that wasn’t necessarily a problem ends up becoming a problem, the French midfielder stressed.

Real Madrid’s new coach, Jose Morainho, had indicated he was aware of the incident, but had chosen both players to give the opportunity to start over.

Despite Tchowanen’s statements, all the details of what happened between the two footballers have not become quite clear. However, the French statement aims to dispel doubts about a direct physical conflict between him and Valverde.

The two midfielders remain an important part of Real Madrid, while for the madrilán club the preservation of calmness and harmony in the dressing room is essential to the goals of the season.
