Albanians in the Presevo Valley have voted to elect their representatives to Serbia’s Parliament. Through a joint electoral list, Albanian representatives aim to strengthen their voice in Serbia’s state institutions and ensure stronger representation of residents of the Presevo Valley.
Serbia’s early parliamentary elections on 25 October brought all Albanian political parties back from Presevo, Medvedja’s Bujanovac.

Citizens who came out to vote said they expect political representatives to protect their rights and advance the demands of the Albanian community.
We need to be as united and get as far out of this election as possible, as Serbia does not agree with it and we need to be more organised, a citizen has said.
I believe there will be a key to the new legislature, and I expect MPs to raise many of the issues, such as the equipment and key of Albanians to state bodies.
With the joint coalition, I believe they have more awareness and greater support from the people.
Calls for support from citizens during the day also made the chairman of the Albanian National Council.
I invite all citizens of the Presevo Valley, as well as Sandzak, to come as far as possible and support the list with which the voice of Albanians in parliament will be heard, said Enkel Rexhepi, chairman of the Albanian National Council.
Passing addresses, non-recognition of Kosovo diplomas and lack of investments in Albanian-run municipalities continue to be among the main concerns of the Albanian community in the Presevo Valley.
