Rama reacts after the 28-year-old eye injury: I’m committed to his treatment in Italy

Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has reacted after the 28-year-old eye injury during recent-day protests in Albania.

Rama has condemned the violence and accused protest organisers of inciting it. He has announced that he is personally committed to providing the young man’s medical treatment at a hospital in Italy, as well as to transporting him on a medical charter.

The head of the Albanian government has said the 28-year-old wound should serve as the alarm bell for all, especially for those who, according to him, are inciting violence.

After I’ve personally taken care of my son’s treatment at Italy’s best hospital last night, as well as of transportation on a medical charter, I tell all those who are treating his wounded eye as furiously to further the violence: You’re the darkness that closed that boy’s eyelight!

He has continued the prosecution response to those he considers to be inciting violence, saying the young man’s wound should serve as a warning of its consequences.
