Rama starts cleaning up in administration, urges ministers to resign from all institutions’ directors

Albania’s prime minister, Edi Rama, has reportedly urged ministers to start the process of moving away from institutions depending on them, at a time when the government is facing protests in Tirana.

According to Top Channel’s report, Rama has contacted ministers from Budva, where he is located, urging them to gather directors of the institutions that are dependent and to seek irrevocable resignations.

The decision is expected to be made public in the days ahead by the prime minister himself, while it is still unknown whether this initiative aims to calm the anger of protesters or relates to the possibility of early elections.

Rama has recently criticised public administration. A week ago, he warned measures against administration leaders who do not respect deadlines to respond to citizens and solve their problems.

When you delay and come out of the deadline, you have to take your cost, and we will do this with the mirror law, in which we will determine that any deadline violation should have responsibility and responsibility must take the cost, Rama had declared.
