The Constitutional Court in Pec has assigned Albert Sylajt a month of detention, suspected of the murder of Arlinda Zekitaj.

Sylaj allegedly killed his former sister-in-law, Arlinda Zekay.

The Founding Criminal Court in Pec, the Department of Criminal Crimes, has ruled on the request of the Founding Prosecutor in Pec . . . . . The Department of Criminal Crimes for the appointment of detention to defendants A.S., due to the suspicion that he has carried out the criminal work, the heavy Vras, by Article 173, paragraph 1, points 1.3 and 1.4, of the Kosovo Republic’s Criminal Code ( KPRK).

Prosecution Judge Sami Sharrahramiu has approved the prosecution’s request and to defendants A.S. has set the length of detention in length of a (1) month, in line with Article 184, paragraph 1, subparagraphers 1.1 and 1.2, points 1.2.1, 1.2.2 and 1.2.3, the Republic of Kosovo Criminal Procedure Code ( KPPRK).

The detention measure is calculated from 27.10.2026, at 23:40, to 27.11.2026, says the report.

He was arrested on Tuesday evening in Decani, while today there have been court hearings for the appointment of a security measure against him.
