Chelsea legend Gus Poyet believes that Cole Palmer can achieve the same levels as the Eden Hazard Club and Gianfranco Zoola, showing the renewed happiness of the English national player at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer spent a difficult 2025-26 season, marking 11 goals in 34 presentations amid physical problems.

However, he has re-discovered his spark this season, recording four goals and three asymmetries so far, and this leads Poyet to high value the player’s level.

He seems happy and that’s very important for a player like Cole Palmer, Poyet told me about Goal, adding that the offensive quality of Chelsea means Palmer should no longer carry the whole burden.

With his contract reportedly valid until 2034, Palmer has time to build an inheritance and attend other major trophies in West London. /Telegraphy/
