Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has met with Irish Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence Thomas Byrne in the Magnaries of the Berlin Process Leaders Summit, which is being held in Montenegro.
Kurti thanked Byrne for Ireland’s continued support for Kosovo and for contributing to the country’s security through KFOR.

He announced that over 3,000 members of the Irish army have served in Kosovo since 1999, while more than a thousand Albanian war refugees had taken refuge in Ireland.
Kurti wrote on Facebook that with international partners it is working for Kosovo’s democratic progress and European commitment to translate into concrete steps towards membership in the European Union.
In this direction, we talked about Kosovo’s necessary advancement on this road. The month of November is important, and we expect the European Commission Report to reflect the progress achieved and that this progress will take on concrete shape through receiving the European Commission questionnaire, he said.
