Prosecutor Valbona Dishaj-Hagjo’s appointment as chief prosecutor of the Peja Foundation Prosecutor’s Office has prompted the reaction of Shkelm Pajasitaj, Donjeta Pajasitaj’s brother, who was killed 11 years ago.
Pajasitaj has opposed her appointment, recalling that Dishaj-Hajoja had been prosecutor in his sister’s case, which, according to him, has not yet received a final epilogue.

Through a Facebook response, he has expressed disappointment with the decision, questioning the way Donnja’s case is being handled by the institutions of justice.
Instead of calling for justice, this decision is deepening my disbelief of the justice system! How can Valbona Dishaj-Hajoya be named chief prosecutor, while my sister’s case, Donjet Pajasitaj, even after 11 years has not yet received a final epilog?) he wrote.
Pajaziaj has also called for accountability from institutions for handling the case and clarification for years of family waiting for justice.
Who will answer for these years of waiting? Who will be held responsible for the way Donnja’s case has been handled? I require real transparency, accountability and clarification from relevant institutions. My family has the right to know what happened to my sister’s case, he said.
Dishaj-Hajos’s appointment came after the suspension of Peja’s chief prosecutor, Joy Vucetaj, within institutional developments following the incident of Arlinda Zekiaj’s murder.
The Pajasitaj family’s response brings to focus the requirements for justice and institutional responsibility in the case of Donjeta Pajaziaj, who continues to be a source of concern for her family members.
