Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gondja has announced the results of archaeological research at the Pillar Temple in Apollo, where an Albanian-German-Romanian mission is bringing new data on ancient heritage.
In a post on social networks, Minister Gonjja suggests that the excavations have enabled verification of the temple’s complete planning, while reused blocks testify to earlier construction than the IV century BC.

According to the minister, architectural fragments and marble tiles testify to the importance of this doric – style monument, which rose above the river port of Apollo.
Research is being conducted in co-operation with the Institute of Archaeology in Tirana and the Winckeman Institute of the Lost University of Berlin.
