The former chief prosecutor of the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec, Joy Vucetaj, has reacted to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council’s decision to suspend it, raising serious concerns about personal and family security.
Sources close to Vucetay have made known about the Signal Journal that it was written to her The KKP, considering the decision to default as a move that, according to her, has contributed to the increase in risk for her life.
Its concern is especially related to continued public exposure following the assassination of Arlinda Zekaj, as well as to the insulting language and serious comments that, according to her, are being circulated in public space.
According to the same sources, Vucetaj has warned that this situation has not only violated her dignity but has created constant uncertainty about her and her family.
She has expressed concern that the public opinion has created the impression that it is Arlinda Zekiaj’s own handkeeping, considering this to be a development with serious consequences for her safety.
The reaction comes after the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, at the extraordinary meeting held Thursday, October 29th, has decided by seven votes to suspend Vucetaj and family violence co-ordinators at the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec.
The KKP has also decided to launch disciplinary investigations to consider eventual responsibility over actions and inactions in previous procedures, in which Arlinda Zekij had been a victim.
The decisions are taken following the recommendations of the chief state prosecutor, based on the report drafted by the Chief State Prosecutor’s Office, where institutional actions and inactions are recorded.
Suspensation and the launch of disciplinary investigations do not constitute final confirmation of individual responsibility, while concerns raised by Vucetaj for risking her life are claims she has addressed KKP’s.
The case of Arlinda Zekitaj’s murder has prompted numerous public reactions and demands for the full dawning of the eventual institutional responsibilities.
