The Great Britain Embassy in Pristina has expressed deep grief at the murder of Arlinda Zekaj, who was addressing Kosovo institutions for protection, for fear her life was in danger because of domestic violence.
No one who takes the bold step to seek help should remain without protection, said the embassy’s response.

The embassy stresses that women who are endangered by domestic violence must rely on finding the necessary security, naming this a fundamental security issue.
The case, according to the embassy, underscores the need for institutional action that puts survivors at the centre, effective co-ordination between institutions, accountability and access to justice.
The embassy has expressed condolences to the victim’s family and relatives, hoping justice will be served.
