DVetevendosje Movement exclusive, Albanian Mehmeti-Selim, has asked the State Prosecution to investigate a comment published on social networks, through which, according to her, calls for the execution of her husband, Rexhep Selimi, sentenced to 13 years by The Hague.

Selimi has said that in the case it was reported through reports in the written media and described it as a serious issue to be addressed by responsible institutions.

Today, through reports on written media, I was notified of a public comment on social networks, in which direct appeal is made to my husband’s execution, Rexhep Selimi. As a wife and citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, I consider this an extremely serious issue that cannot and should not go away without being addressed by responsible institutions.She wrote.

Mehmeti-Selim stressed that political differences or personal beliefs cannot justify such calls.

Disagreements, political beliefs, or personal attitudes of no one can serve as an excuse for public calling for the murder of a human. Freedom of expression cannot be used as a cover for promoting violence. Therefore, I call on the State Prosecutor to take the necessary action under its competencies to investigate this case, identify the person who stands behind comment and assess the eventual criminal responsibility

I ask nothing more and nothing less than law enforcement and handling with the right seriousness of a public call for taking a life of a man. Silence and normalizing such a language are unacceptable. Law institutions have the responsibility to ensure that these cases are handled in accordance with the law, regardless of whom they turn to.She expressed herself.
