Sociologist Grant Prokshi has estimated that the number of women killed testifies to serious problems in dealing with domestic violence and in implementing the principle of gender equality in Kosovo.
She has said that problem starts in family and family education, to continue later in schools and institutions responsible.

Speaking at RTK Prime, in the last case of a woman’s murder, Prokshi has stressed that it is particularly disturbing that, despite education, awareness and measures the victim had taken to seek protection, she failed to escape.
According to her, the case also highlights the lack of proper response from institutions the victim had repeatedly faced.
Prokshi has also criticised the approach of some institutional workers, who, according to her, aid to citizens present as a gesture of humanity and not as a professional obligation.
