Mazda is developing the new generation of BT-50 trucking, which is expected to reach the market by 2028.
The current generation, presented in 2020 and updated at the end of 2024, is based on the platform of Isuzu D-Max.

Mazda Australia’s director, Vinesh Bhindi, has confirmed that the new model is currently under way, but without revealing technical details.
Mazda is expected to again seek a partner for the development of this vehicle, as the company does not have enough resources to fully develop such a platform itself.
One of the possibilities is continuing to co-operate with Isuzu, while another option is to expand partnership with Chinese producer Changan.
The latter may also bring in the possibility that the future BT-50 will be equipped with an electrified system, making the model more competitive to Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. /Telegraphy/
