Republika Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted the new head of the International Organisation for Migration Mission ( IOM) in Kosovo, Mrs. Marian Benbow Pfisterer. On behalf of the organisation, she conveyed her prime minister congratulations on forming the new government and electing the President.

Prime Minister Kurt and Mrs. Benbow Pfisterer praised the co-operation so far and expressed readiness to deepen it. For Kosovo, migration continues to be an engine for the country’s economic development and for stable links to the rgata.

Partnership with the IOM is of particular importance to Kosovo’s efforts with those of countries of origin, transit and destination. Through this co-operation, Kosovo aims to contribute to a joint regional approach that protects the rights of migrants and paves the way for people who know, experience and ties gained across borders to serve the country’s development.

Another common priority is gender equality, especially through the integration of women into the labour market. Prime Minister Kurti informed Mrs. Benbow Pfisterer for planned launching in the future of the Super Work on Women programme, which will provide financial support for the employment of women in the private sector in Kosovo.

With a full agenda of future co-operation, the prime minister praised Mrs. Benbow Pfisterer for taking office and thanked the IOM for the current partnership with the Government of Kosovo.
